After MVP rumors all season, his team flops to Golden State in the first round, and he was dismal, so I ask you, do you think Dirk will be plagued with the reputation of performing in the Regular season and then just losing it? Remember last year, they were up 2-0 in the finals.

I actually think this is a good analogy because they both have the same problem, no mental toughness and not being able to produce in the post season. True A-Rod is a future HOF and he played well with the Rangers. But ever since joining this supposedly better team he has not been able to translate regular season success to post season success. The same could be said for Dirk, he just can't produce when it counts.
Only difference between the A-Rod and Dirk however is this. A-Rod is only expected to play well on his team, he's not expected to be a leader, Jeter already fills that role. Dirk however is expected not only to play well but to be a leader. He can't seem to be one and that is one of the reasons why the Mavs have not won a championship.

Dirk has earned that reputation as a choke artist and not a team leader
but A-Rod of the NBA? he's not close to the player A-Rod is and basketball players have more of individual impact on the game.

Dirk is not the A-Rod of NBA. A-Rod is already HoF worthy but Dirk is not. A-Rod carried his Rangers team which had nobody on it, whereas Dirk has a host of very good players to play with.
A-Rod has always showed his leadership abilities. Dirk hasnt.
NOPE. Dirk may be able to shoot the ball but he cant beat the Warriors in the first round. He is not the A-rod of the NBA. If he won the championship lat year maybe i would have reconsidered.
